November 20, 2006 – Orative Corp, a privately-held company and leader in enterprise mobile telephony, was acquired by Cisco Systems. Orative’s application will enable Cisco to extend its Unified Communications portfolio to mobile devices. Cisco’s goal in the acquisition is to “transform the mobile phone into a true business device, using Cisco Unified CallManager for call control, Cisco MeetingPlace for collaboration and Cisco Unity as the voicemail platform.” Orative developed mobile software that lets employees reach the Right Resource, Right Now.
