March 14, 2007 – Aquest Systems, a pioneer in innovative automation solutions for the global semiconductor industry, announced Dr. Martin Aalund as vice president of product development and engineering. Aalund is responsible for leading Aquest’s global product development teams located in the US, India and Taiwan. These engineering teams are developing the firm’s next-generation automation solutions that enable Aquest’s No-Wait-ManufacturingSM vision. Prior to joining Aquest, Aalund had engineering and management responsibilities at Smart Machines, Equipe/PRI and most recently as the Director of Engineering Automation Standards Division at KLA-Tencor. He brings Aquest an extensive experience in robotics, including a Ph.D. from the Robotics group of the University of Texas at Austin. Aalund is also a well published author and holder of several automation patents. He is also a professor of electrical engineering at Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif. Aquest Systems is a pioneer of No-Wait-ManufacturingSM (NWM) automation technologies for the worldwide semiconductor industry.
